Pariss is Awesomeeeee

It was another buffet again, but this time, with a delightful twist--ALCOHOL. Pariss buffet is a seafood buffet with supposedly 200 different dishes. I don't like seafood, so I didn't really expect to like much from the buffet. There was all the usual Taiwan buffet fare. But it's the free alcohol that sets it apart from the rest. The selection isn't Grey Goose, but they had Taiwan beer, so I drank lots of that (4 cups to be exact, enough to have my mom freak out haha).

My mom explained to me that Taiwan doesn't have a drinking age. I had absolutely no idea that this was the state of affairs in Taiwan. I can imagine if the US abolished the drinking age, it would be riotous. But that's not how it is in Taiwan. In fact, I have yet to see kids around my age walk into a 7-11 and buy a beer. I did see kids who were participating in a junior high graduation luncheon hit the bar, but they only got one drink. I only saw one group of high schoolers or college kids get wasted at the buffet. This all leads me to believe that the US really doesn't have much reason to have a drinking age. But then again, I may or may not be typing drunken gibberish right now haha.

We had dinner after 8pm, which is called xiao yeh, and my aunt took us to a teppanyaki place. Teppanyaki here is different than the states because this isn't a show--it's serious eating. Everyone gets a bowl of rice, and all the bean sprouts and butter shoots (i think) they can eat. Then all other meats and seafood are ordered to the customers taste. I got a steak fillet, lamb, and an omlette.
