Reds, Go Together

Korea has a lot of national pride. They drive Korean-made cars and use Korean-made products. There are a scant amount of foreign products.
And when something like the World Cup comes along, Korea--whether the soccer team is good or not--will support their country proudly. And since they did suprisingly well last time, it's no wonder that people are even more enthusiastic about this year's World cup. I have been watching nonstop world cup coverage on tv. There are signs everywhere for the games and teams. The players are national heroes. You can't go anywhere in the country without seeing the Red Devils. It's also not bad that the Miss Korea World Cups are pretty cute haha.
Flash forward to the night of the first Korean game: Korea vs. Togo. In Seoul alone, there were 1.5 million people watching the game outside in the streets. That's just in the streets, and in Seoul. This kind of stuff was happening all over the country. The day of the game, you could spot red shirts everywhere, and stores closed early for the game. Insanity.
